WUTA Rawhide Mallet
Rawhide-head mallet
Brand: WUTA
Mallet with a shellac-impregnated wound buffalo rawhide head and a hickory wood handle.

Features
- 42 mm: overall 280 mm / 11 in, head length 80 mm, 260 g / 9 oz. 48 mm: overall 295 mm / 11.5 in, head length 85 mm, 310 g / 11 oz.
- The head is fixed to the handle with a screw. For leathercraft, stamping, punching, jewelry and shaping metals that must not be scratched; 1 selected hammer per package.
- In the newer images, the Ø42 mm head length is 90 mm and the Ø48 mm head's 90.5 mm; both handles are given a length of 238 mm. These differ from the text's 80/85 mm head lengths; the handle dimension isn't counted as the overall length.
- One image gives Ø42/48 mm weights of approx. 250/300 g, other images 258/306 g. The text's 260/310 g values are also retained.
- The rawhide head is presented as softer than metal and nylon; the surface can wear with use, and the source states this protects the struck tool. Less bounce, a quieter sound, and reduced rawhide odor are manufacturer claims; no measured sound level is given.
- Color and texture variation in natural leather rolls, and grain and batch variation in the wooden handle, are considered normal. The head is called cowhide in some images and water-buffalo hide in others; the source doesn't distinguish between these names.
