BARBANTI

History

Barbanti's story began in 1957 with a device made by Ilario Barbanti. He was engaged in selling and repairing electrical equipment. Wear on iron cables in laundries prompted him to seek another solution. In the Coppia unit, two irons were placed alternately on a heating stand. This eliminated the need for a cable during use. With his sons' involvement, the company expanded and took part in the 1966 Milan exhibition.

In 1975, the brothers' operations split, and the Barbanti Carlo company was founded. Production focused mainly on professional finishing equipment. In 1980, the company moved from Mirandola to San Giacomo Roncole. Steam generators and ironing tables were manufactured there. The Maxi 90 dummy automatically determined the garment's height. Pneumatic stretching functions held a distinct place in the company's product development.

In 1992 Barbanti introduced a shirt-finishing machine. Later improvements were based on users' operational needs. The earthquake of May 2012 caused serious damage to the plant. Production was temporarily relocated to the Sala Bolognese area. Eleven months later the company returned to a rebuilt facility in Mirandola. The official history also describes an equipment showroom for testing there. Customers can check a machine's operation before choosing the right one.
