KREUSSLER

History

Kreussler was founded in 1912 and developed as a family business. Its operations are divided between textile chemicals and pharmaceuticals. The textile division's roots trace back to dyes and auxiliary chemical products. After 1930 the dry-cleaning range expanded. The official history shows this field gradually gaining a larger share of production. The Wiesbaden facility is presented as the main site of production and research.

In 1952, the DERVAL PER cleaning booster for perchloroethylene was introduced. In 1962, the CLIP, FRESH, DRY and ACTIVAL product families were created. In 1985, Henkel's dry-cleaning products business was acquired. This deal expanded textile chemistry operations. On 3 December 1991, the company presented its wet cleaning approach to a professional audience. The LANADOL system is aimed at processing delicate textiles in an aqueous medium.

The subsequent range covers dry-cleaning solvents, stain removers and dosing systems. SYSTEM K4 is one of these technical directions. LANADOL, meanwhile, organizes a separate wet-cleaning process. Wool, silk and other delicate materials are listed among its applications. The company's international operations are supported by subsidiary offices and technical partners. Catalogs from different years show varying compositions of that network. For this reason, an older office count should not be taken as the current global figure.
