CERTUSS

History

CERTUSS was founded in 1957 by Hans-Joachim Schröder. The goal was to build a quiet, easy-to-maintain steam generator for continuous operation. The water-tube boiler principle was chosen as the technical basis. The company developed in Krefeld, Germany. Over time, steam generators have been used across various industrial applications. Laundries are one of the user groups requiring steam.

One of the dated milestones of international operations is entry into the US market in 2015. The American company was initially based in Philadelphia. In March 2023 a new North American headquarters opened in Windsor. A training facility called the Steam Academy was also established there. It is intended for training on live systems in maintenance and water treatment. This structure combines after-sales technical support with product supply.

MIURA's 2025 report confirms that CERTUSS was acquired in 2024. Thus the German manufacturer became part of the Japanese steam technology group. In October 2025, management passed from Mathias Brauner to Robert Brauner. The current range includes gas-fired and electrically heated steam generators. Systems in which several generators operate together are also offered. The UMX line is one of the company's newer developments. The vertical design aims to reduce the footprint required for installation.
