HAWO

History

hawo was founded in 1975 by Hans and Helga Wolf. The initial products were industrial packaging machines. Hans Wolf later developed a sealing device for medical instrument packaging. This technical direction laid the foundation for the company's later products. Today, textile packaging and medical packaging are parallel lines of business. The company's headquarters is located in Obrigheim, Germany. A second production site operates in Mosbach.

Dated milestones of international expansion are shown in official sustainability reports. In 2017, an office opened in Chicago, USA. In 2018, a Singapore office was established for the Asia region. Sales are organized through selected partners in various countries. These partners receive training at the hawo Competence Centre and on-site. Alongside the product, the company provides technical support and maintenance.

Since 2020, hawo has offered packaging solutions with plastic-free consumables. Corresponding packaging machines are also part of that range. Textile applications cover dry cleaning, laundry and garment manufacturing. Hotels and restaurants are also among the user sectors. In the medical field, systems are developed for verifying the sealing process. Software and process-control equipment complement the range. The 2024 report shows about 85 employees across two sites in Germany. This figure applies to the entire hawo enterprise.
