Smooth bone tool with a pointed end and a rounded end.
Features
- Approx. 152×20 mm / 5.98 in long; beige, 1 or 2 pieces depending on selection. Natural marks/scratches are possible.
- For bookbinding, origami, card/scrapbooking, and folding, scoring and burnishing on thin delicate and thick watercolor/print papers. The smooth surface applies stable pressure to lay down fibers, sharpen the fold, and give decorative paper a sheen.
- The straight model measures 152×20×5.5 mm; the curved model is given as 123×23 mm. There are separate 1/2/5-piece packs and a set of one straight + one curved tool.
- Applications shown include shaping leather, decorative line stamping, forming wallet card pockets, and spreading polishing compound. The surface is polished, with one end rounded and the other pointed.
- In the pictured bracelet example, a 17.5×1.95 cm piece of leather is marked and dyed, the ends are shaped with a 20 mm 1/4-round tool, a 5 mm thinning allowance is set aside at the back, and a 1 mm thick ruler is used as a guide. The cut should not go all the way through the leather.
- After the thinned parts are glued, the edge is firmly pressed and shaped with the bone tool. In the example, a 3 mm-pitch hole punch and a channel tool set at 2 mm are used; after stitching, the edge is smoothed, dyed, burnished with edge finish once dry, and a hole is opened for an S-shaped hook. These are additional tools used in the example.
