Features
- Handle thickness 9 mm. The handle, adapter and prong heads are sold separately; the selected combination is shipped, so watch for handle-less variants.
- Adapter pitches 3 / 3.38 / 3.85 / 4 / 5 / 6 mm; the source shows 36 combinations across 6 hole shapes. French hexagonal, round awl, hollow round, diamond and olive-shaped heads are listed.
- The polished head detaches and swaps out; a damaged prong doesn't require replacing the thread. The hexagonal prong can be rotated 90° to give a forward/reverse angle.
- The hexagonal tapered body and blunt prong tip punch the hole by compression, rounding the edge to reduce thread friction/fraying and pulling, aimed at a double-wave stitch.
- Don't apply excessive force to the fine tip; use a soft anvil like leather, since a hard surface can damage the tip.
- Wipe off the protective oil before first use; after work, re-oil and store in a dry, ventilated place.
- Comes presented in gift packaging.
- For the 2.0 mm hexagonal head, 0.55 mm waxed thread is recommended in the image; for the 1.8 mm hexagonal, and diamond and olive heads, 0.45 mm thread is recommended. For the round punch and hollow round head, 0.55 mm thread is shown. In the hole samples, the diamond width is 2.4 mm and the olive width 2.1 mm.
- Adapter pairs are shown by pitch/prong count as follows: 3 mm—2+10; 3.38 mm—2+9; 3.85 mm—2+8; 4 mm—2+8; 5 mm—2+7; 6 mm—2+6. The single 2-prong and 6–10-prong handle options don't include the adapter and prong head. Separate adapter options are also sold without a handle.
- Full set image: 1 two-prong and 1 multi-prong handle, adapter pairs for all six pitches, 10 round punch heads, 20 hollow round heads, 12 units of 2.0 mm hexagonal, 12 diamond and 12 olive heads. This pictured list doesn't include the 1.8 mm hexagonal head.
- Each of the 3.38+3.85 mm and 4+5 mm paired sets has 2 handles, adapter pairs for the two stated pitches, 10 round punch, 20 hollow round, 12 units of 2.0 mm hexagonal, and 12 diamond heads. The 3/3.38/3.85/4/5/6 mm basic set images show the same head counts and 2 handles, but only one adapter pair for the selected pitch.
- Separate spare-head images show round punch and hollow round heads packed as 60-piece; 1.8/2.0 mm hexagonal, diamond and olive heads as 12-piece; and 1.5 mm round punch and hollow round heads as 20-piece packs. These images also include an L-wrench and 3 screws, with no handle. Some sets' hole sample labels the round head as 1.0 mm while the separate pack labels it 1.5 mm; these sizes aren't reconciled.
- In the assembly image, the adapter screws are loosened with the small wrench, all prongs are set facing the same direction, and the screws are tightened. With the large wrench, the handle's side screws are loosened counterclockwise; the adapter is aligned with the side notch's groove, seated level with the handle, and the screws are tightened clockwise.
