Three separate finishing agents — A, B, and C — 30 ml each, in a leak-resistant container with an inner cap; select the desired one.
Features
- A — Leather CMC Tokonole: a burnishing gum that suppresses fraying at the edge and flesh side; for smoothing the surface and protecting it from dirt.
- B — water-based Edge Seal: an Italian-imported base-formula edge primer. Strengthens a fraying edge and prepares it for a smooth, glossy finish; a fast-drying coating is offered for resistance to moisture, flexing and cracking. Low odor, applied on vegetable-tanned leather.
- Shake B before each use. Round the edge with an edge beveler, apply a thin coat with a cotton swab, sand at 220 grit, and reapply. Then sand at 800 grit and add another coat; rub quickly with the edge burnishing tool, repeating to the desired shine. Friction heat darkens the edge.
- On leather to be dyed, given an antique finish or colored, Edge Seal can hinder some colors from soaking in.
- C — Carnauba Creme: an elastic protective wax layer on the leather surface; gives high gloss when burnished, and is offered for resistance to fingerprints and friction marks. Not used on suede.
- Avoid freezing: the source states liquids below 0°C will freeze. Liquid products may ship later than ordinary goods due to special transport/safety checks.
- The illustrated Edge Finish instructions show burnishing at 800 grit followed by 1000 grit, then reapplying the coating and finishing with the edge smoothing tool. The tools shown in the photo aren't included with the order.
- In the Carnauba Creme application chart, dyed/carved leather is first fully dried and wiped with wool; the product is spread evenly with a soft white cloth or sheepskin over the whole surface, including grooves. Product buildup in cuts/grooves should be avoided. Leave overnight to fully dry, then burnish to the desired shine with a clean dry wool/cloth.
- The Carnauba Creme packaging chart notes a risk of it freezing and becoming ineffective below 5°C.
