Leather burnishing tool in three shapes, made of dense black ebony wood.
Features
- Round head: 150 mm, 5 channels and a pointed tip, for leather edges. Slim rod: 140 mm, 5 channels (old model had 4), for zippers and narrow slots. Half-round: 60×35 mm, for a wide area and the leather's fiber side.
- A three-piece set has one of each shape; single pieces are also available. The source gives the density as 1.3 times ordinary wood. A demo with Tokonole is shown; natural wood grain/color varies.
- The new spec card gives the round tool as 25×150 mm and 49 g; the slim tool as 9×140 mm and 7 g; the half-round tool as 60×65 mm and 130 g. In that same photo the slim tool's width and, separately, its package width, is 8 mm; the half-round's wood section is 60×35 mm per photo. These size discrepancies are kept as is.
- The round tool's new diagram gives a length of 150 mm, head width 24.5 mm, groove outer width 25 mm; the five channels' heights from top are 10/5/4/3/1.5 mm, with inner widths of 17/18/19/20/21 mm. The 10 mm channel is for thick leather and knife sheaths, the 1.5 mm channel for thin leather.
- The slim tool's new diagram gives a length of 140 mm, head width 9 mm, and the same 10/5/4/3/1.5 mm channels. It's meant for polishing round holes, concave edges and zipper windows.
- The technical diagram gives the round tool's top/tip radii as R25/R6, and the slim tool's as R9/R4; the groove contours carry R0.75/R1.5/R2/R2.5/R3 mm marks. Overall size variance is ±0.5 mm, groove size variance ±0.2 mm.
- The half-round tool's brass T-shaft is 30 mm wide × 40 mm tall. The wood section's cut diagram gives 60 mm width, 32.58 mm height (29.58+3 mm), 10 mm at center, an R30 arc and R3 bottom edge; the photo shows a 35 mm wood height.
- The compound is spread evenly on the leather's back with a cotton swab and burnished along the fiber direction. For an edge, first flatten the surface, apply the compound, burnish with the groove, and repeat to the desired finish. Natural wood may vary in color and grain.
- Individual tools, a round+slim pair, and a round+slim+half-round trio are shown. The brass-shafted half-round model comes with a box; the demo leather items are not included.
