WUTA Double-Sided Leather Strop Paddle
Double-sided leather knife stropping paddle
Brand: WUTA
Strop with a beechwood body and vegetable-tanned cowhide, for removing fine metal burrs, straightening the edge, and polishing.

Features
- Size 338 × 80 × 16 mm; a dried/sanded 16 mm-thick imported beech body for resistance to bending and cracking. The handle has water-based red-brown paint, a palm-fitting curved grip and a 20 mm oval hanging hole.
- The smooth side is the grain side of 1.5–1.6 mm split vegetable-tanned leather — for final fine polishing. The rough side is the flesh side of 1.5–1.6 mm full-grain vegetable-tanned leather — for scarring and initial edge work. Both sides call for 5–8 backstrokes with paste at moderate pressure.
- For leather knives, skiving knives, outdoor and kitchen knives, and other fine-edged tools. First apply 2–3 drops of vegetable oil or sewing-machine oil to the leather; spread the paste over the whole surface, or mix it with oil and brush it on, then let dry.
- Lay a V-edge blade flat and parallel to the surface, drawing it back 5–8 times at moderate pressure. For a convex/rounded edge, rest the spine against the leather and roll toward the edge along its curve as you draw back; lift straight up once the edge touches. 5–10 strokes per side.
- Clean the wood handle/edges with a dry cloth, and wipe the leather with a soft cloth or paper towel to remove paste and metal residue. Store in a dry, ventilated, sunless place; keep the leather away from water, as vegetable-tanned leather can stiffen and crack.
- When the leather stiffens, becomes overly smooth or gets damaged, replace it with the supplied spare leather: peel off the old piece, clean the adhesive off the wood, remove the protective backing from the new one, flatten it and press it on.
- Photo dimensions: replacement leather surfaces 240 × 80 mm; oval green paste 58 × 20 × 17 mm, 30 g; rectangular paste 114 × 36 × 22 mm, 125 g. The green polishing paste is marked as chromium oxide.
- The tool set photo shows 1 leather-covered beech board, 1 oval 30 g paste, 1 spare vegetable-tanned leather pair and 1 manual. Replacement set: 1 spare leather pair and 1 rectangular 125 g paste. Separate paste options come as 3 oval 30 g or 3 rectangular 125 g pieces.
- The photo labels both sides as full-grain cowhide; the text distinguishes the smooth side as split leather and the rough side as full-grain leather. The discrepancy between the material descriptions is left as is.
