Full-grain, drum-dyed and waxed cow/bull leather; the main colors are described as vegetable-tanned, while Milkshake White is described separately as semi-vegetable-tanned.
Features
- 16 colors: Saddle Brown, Black, Coffee, Red, Orange, Yellow, Apple Green, Dark Green, Macaron Blue, Berlin Blue, Navy Blue, Midnight Blue, Purple, Bordeaux Red, Rope Grey, Milkshake White.
- Somewhat firm, elastic, smooth-grain closed surface; absorbs water, suitable for wet molding, carving, tooling, wallets/bags/holsters. Edges can be burnished with water alone, without dye or coating.
- Natural scars, scratches and grain/wrinkles are possible. This is explained by uneven dye penetration after thinning, differences in fiber density, and different processing of the top/middle layers. Several orders may be shipped in one package.
- The package contains a 30×60 cm piece of leather. Initial thickness 2.2–3 mm / 5.5–7.5 oz, ±0.2 mm by section. Free thinning is offered down to 40 cm width and a final thickness of at least 0.8 mm.
- The photos show the raw material as bull/cowhide sourced from France. The visible page of the manufacturer's published FZ2412880 report identifies the material as top-layer cowhide; not all three pages are provided.
- The natural-trace list includes scars, loose grain, natural wrinkles, stains, small scratches and cuts. The back surface is described as densely fibrous and smoothed.
- Milkshake White is a separate semi-vegetable-tanned option: vegetable tannin is reduced for whiteness and less color change, and water absorption is shown as lower than fully vegetable-tanned leather. The image creates a contradiction by using both 'chrome-free' and 'combined chrome and vegetable tanning' phrasing; the chrome-free composition is not confirmed.
- General area guide, waste not included: 1 square foot or 30×30 cm for a small card/coin case; 2 square feet or 30×60 cm for a short wallet/passport/small bag; 3 square feet for a long wallet/clutch; 3–5 for a medium bag; 5–15 square feet for a large bag/backpack. These are recommendations depending on design and pattern, not upsell options for this product.
- Thickness guide: 1.8–2.5 mm (4.5–6.25 oz) typical for bag flap/front/back/side/base, choose an initial 2 mm or thereabouts; 1.5–2 mm (3.75–5 oz) for the main body of a wallet/card case/coin purse, choose 2 or 1.5 mm; 0.8–1.2 mm (2–3 oz) for internal compartments/card layers/lining, choose 1 mm.
- This guide gives an initial thickness of 1.8–2.4 mm (4.5–6 oz), while other images and text show 2.2–3 mm. The 0.5 mm cut is only a description sample and does not change the at-least-0.8 mm thinning service stated in the text. There is also a 19-code color chart; unlabeled codes should not be read as additional color names or current availability.
