Waxed, drum-dyed 30×30 cm pieces made from French bull leather; Milkshake White is presented as semi-vegetable-tanned, other colors as vegetable-tanned.
Features
- 16 colors: saddle brown, black, coffee, red, orange, yellow, apple green, dark green, macaron blue, Berlin blue, navy, midnight blue, purple, burgundy, Rope Grey and Milkshake White.
- Initial thickness 2.2–3.0 mm / 5.5–7.5 oz, with a ±0.2 mm variance between sections. A preferred thickness can be selected; free thinning is offered up to 40 cm width, for a final thickness of 0.8 mm and above.
- Not overly stiff, elastic with a smooth closed surface; for wallets, bags and holsters. Water absorption allows shaping when wetted, tool-stamping, carving and embossing. For edge burnishing, sealing with water without paint/coating is shown.
- 1 piece of leather; several orders ship in one package. Natural grain, wrinkles, scars and scratches, as well as light/screen color differences, are possible.
- After thinning, the back color can look uneven: the dye does not penetrate the thicker material fully evenly, fiber layers of differing density become visible, and the surface and mid-layer processing differ.
- Milkshake White is semi-vegetable-tanned with reduced plant tannin for a whiter color and weaker later darkening. It can be shaped; compared with fully vegetable-tanned colors, it absorbs less water and changes color less over time. The graphic simultaneously uses chrome-free and chrome-combined vegetable-tanning wording; the chrome content is not clarified from this source.
- The image also shows another sales form: an irregular 1 sq ft ≈ 900 cm² piece. Custom-size cutting availability is agreed beforehand. Area recommendations are for a typical design; actual consumption depends on the design, craftsmanship and cutting loss.
- The thinning chart shows 1.0/1.5/2.0 mm layers, with the initial 2.2–3.0 mm layer rougher and the thinned back more even-fibered. Natural loose grain and minor cut marks are also possible defects.
- The source includes an image of report No. FZ2412880 from the Guangdong Testing Institute of Product Quality Supervision: the sample is shown as WUTA French bull hide, with the main material listed as top-grain cowhide.
