Grade-A full-grain top-grain cowhide from the Tuscany region of Italy; for durable belt and harness projects.
Features
- Natural, black, saddle brown, reddish brown and green — 5 colors. Drum-dyed, medium oil content, dense and even fibers; a smooth surface with, per the source, about 85% or more usable area.
- Spec thickness is 8–10 oz / 3.2–4.0 mm; the feature section states 3.0–4.0 mm. Per-section variance ±0.2 mm. Free thinning is offered for a final thickness of 1.0 mm and above.
- Full-grain, unsplit leather absorbs water; the naturally light-colored piece is shown for dyeing, wet-forming, carving, stamping, tooling and laser engraving.
- Rigid/elastic structure: for horse tack, animal collars/walking leads, belts, luggage straps, guitar straps, gun slings and baggage straps. 1 piece in the selected size; multiple orders ship in one package.
- Natural scars/scratches, grain/wrinkles are possible; custom sizes are agreed beforehand. The source's cutting description notes the belly and head/shoulder areas are removed, keeping the dense back/rump section.
- Area cards show 1 sq ft ≈ 900 cm², 2 sq ft ≈ 1800 cm² and 3 sq ft ≈ 2700 cm². These are approximate source figures for irregular pieces; a specific size is agreed beforehand.
- The sample photo of the thickness gauge reads 4.08 mm; this is the measurement of a single sample and not a separate nominal figure for all pieces.
