Features
- 2–6 mm range; sample steps of 2.07 / 2.25 / 2.45 / 2.7 / 3 / 3.38 / 3.85 / 4 / 4.5 / 5 / 5.4 / 6 mm. For matching stitch lines with WUTA's 5-, 8- and 20-tooth French tools.
- Straight teeth cut at about 45° ////, while reverse teeth leave an opposite-slant mark; the reverse direction is described for a machine-stitch look and for working the back side of the leather. The product's size line shows a straight-direction 2-tooth version.
- Teeth are fully polished from the shank to both inner and outer faces. Sharp points and rice-shaped holes are meant to reduce thread wear, giving an even mark on 4 mm vegetable-tanned leather.
- Adjustment: loosen the two center nuts toward the middle of the screw; align the inner face of the teeth to the required step line; slowly turn the outer nut to bring the outer face of the teeth to the other line, then lock it.
- Hold the tool vertically; do not apply excessive force to the thin tip. The source recommends avoiding a hard cutting board especially in winter, favoring a soft protective material like leather. Choice of 1 piece or a 3-piece set.
- The adjustable tool's length is 116 mm / 4.56 in, tooth-shank width 13 mm / 0.51 in, thickness 8 mm / 0.31 in. This page's Set A includes the adjustable 2-tooth tool plus fixed 8-tooth tools at 3.38 and 3.85 mm; Set B includes the adjustable 2-tooth tool plus fixed 8-tooth tools at 2.7 and 3.0 mm. All tools in these sets are straight/obverse direction.
