An even-thickness, fray-resistant waxed thread made by twisting 3 strands of 100% polyester; especially for leather sewing.
Features
- 12 colors; 1 or 5 spools depending on selection. The wax is intended to reduce friction/knotting; the stitching end can be finished by gluing or singeing. 2 mm thick paper spool.
- Diameter—length—recommended leather stitching-chisel pitch: 0.35 mm—60 m / 65.6 yd—1.92–2.45 mm; 0.45 mm—40 m / 43.7 yd—2.7–3.0 mm.
- 0.55 mm—25 m / 27.3 yd—3.38 mm; 0.65 mm—20 m / 21.8 yd—3.85–6.75 mm. These are reference recommendations; thread thickness depends on your personal preference.
- Batch, lighting and screen can cause color variation. During shipping, white wax residue may make the color appear uneven; it evens out during stitching, and the original color appears once the wax is melted with a heat gun.
- The image gives the spool a height of 60 mm and a width of 20 mm. Heat-fusing of the end, the thread not fraying into fibers, and the wax not shedding during stitching are shown; these are the manufacturer's product descriptions.
- In the images, colors are labeled as Cream White, Ivory, Light Tan, Saddle Brown, Caramel, Sun Orange, Flame Orange, Ruby Red, Bamboo Green, Cerulean, Royal Blue, Midnight Blue and Black. Although the stitching sample shows 13 names, the title and main text say 12 colors; the order options are unchanged.
- On the 0.45 mm Caramel/5-pack image, one spool is labeled at approximately 20 m, while the main specification and other 0.45 mm images state 40 m. The 0.65 mm series' Midnight Blue/5-pack image does not separately state thickness and length; this information is not considered confirmed beyond the image.
- In the image, reference chisel pitches are given as paired or single values: 1.92/2.45 mm for 0.35 mm thread; 2.7/3.0 mm for 0.45 mm; 3.38 mm for 0.55 mm; 3.85/6.75 mm for 0.65 mm. The main text presents some of these pairs as a range; the choice remains a reference, based on preference.
