LeTech Leather Casein Additive
Coating additive
Brand: LeTech
Leather Casein Additive is a modified casein additive in a polyurethane dispersion, added to the top coat of leather footwear, clothing and accessories.

Features
- Casein is a milk-derived protein film-former. The modification improves standard casein's poor water resistance while maintaining flexibility, adhesion and abrasion resistance.
- The discontinuous dispersion coating increases air, vapour and moisture exchange; it gives a natural sheen and can be sanded during polishing.
- Not suitable for suede or nubuck.
- Test every product on a small, inconspicuous area before full application.
- Add 5–10% Cross Linker X and 10–15% Casein Additive of the total volume to the Leather Top Coat.
- The source notes colour retention under UV exposure, and resistance to water, aggressive environments and abrasion.
- Compatible additives: Leather Slip Additive, Leather Non-Slip/Wax-Effect Additive, Leather X-GUARD Additive, Leather Casein Additive and Leather Thickening Agent.
- Apply the top coat thinly and evenly with an airbrush/spray gun after repair and dyeing; a thick coat can alter the colour and stiffen the leather.
- Drying time depends on temperature and humidity: careful use is possible after 2–3 hours, with full curing in 8–12 hours. Do not apply cleaning or care products during the first week.
