Leather Top Coat Gloss creates a glossy, durable and elastic protective layer on leather, aimed at increasing resistance to abrasion, scratches, moisture and solvents.
Features
- A coating that retains its flexibility and leather-like feel at low temperatures.
- Used together with Cross Linker X: added at 5–10% of the total volume to the top coat.
- LeTech top coats can be mixed with one another to achieve any desired sheen level.
- Test every product on a small, inconspicuous area before full application.
- Clean the surface with Leather Ultimate Cleaner; remove heavy grease stains first with Leather Degreaser. Then degrease with Leather Alcohol Cleaner or Leather Liquid Degreaser.
- Remove a damaged, weak old coating with Solvent Cleaner or Leather Prep; apply Leather Primer with 5–10% of the total volume of Cross Linker X added.
- Shake and mix the dye, then pass it through a 190-micron filter; spray thin coats using compressed air that is free of water and oil. A nozzle of 0.5–1.2 mm is specified for the dye, with pressure of 1.1–8 bar depending on the equipment; thinning with distilled water is permitted.
- For small local touch-ups, base coats and colour restoration, the dye can also be applied with a sponge, brush or roller.
- Compatible additives: Leather Slip Additive, Leather Non-Slip/Wax-Effect Additive, Leather X-GUARD Additive, Leather Casein Additive and Leather Thickening Agent.
- Apply the top coat thinly and evenly with an airbrush/spray gun after repair and dyeing; a thick coat can alter the colour and stiffen the leather.
- Drying time depends on temperature and humidity: careful use is possible after 2–3 hours, with full curing in 8–12 hours. Do not apply cleaning or care products during the first week.
- Clean tools with water after use, and with Leather Prep if necessary.
