Leather Top Coat High Gloss is a high-gloss, soft and elastic protective coating for soft-finished leather goods.
Features
- For leather furniture, footwear, clothing, accessories, vegetable-tanned and patent leather; not suitable for suede/nubuck.
- Designed to increase resistance to wear, scratches, moisture and solvents while preserving the natural feel of the leather.
- Used with Cross Linker X: 5–10% is added to the topcoat by total volume.
- LeTech topcoats can be mixed with each other to achieve the desired level of gloss.
- Test each product on a small, inconspicuous area before full application.
- Clean the surface with Leather Ultimate Cleaner; remove heavy grease stains first with Leather Degreaser. Then degrease with Leather Alcohol Cleaner or Leather Liquid Degreaser.
- Remove damaged, poorly adhering old coating with Solvent Cleaner or Leather Prep; apply Leather Primer as a base coat, adding 5–10% Cross Linker X by total volume.
- Shake and mix the dye and pass it through a 190-micron filter; spray thin coats with compressed air free of water and oil. For the dye, a 0.5–1.2 mm nozzle is recommended, with pressure of 1.1–8 bar depending on the equipment; thinning with distilled water is permitted.
- For small local touch-ups, base coats and colour restoration, the dye can also be applied with a sponge, brush or roller.
- Compatible additives: Leather Slip Additive, Leather Non-Slip/Wax-Effect Additive, Leather X-GUARD Additive, Leather Casein Additive and Leather Thickening Agent.
- Apply the final coat thinly and evenly with an airbrush/spray gun after repair and dyeing; a thick coat may change the colour and stiffen the leather.
- Drying time depends on temperature and humidity: careful use is possible after 2–3 hours, full cure takes 8–12 hours. Do not apply cleaning or care products during the first week.
- After work, clean tools with water, using Leather Prep if necessary.
