LeTech Leather Metallic Additive
Metallic-effect dye additive
Brand: LeTech
Leather Metallic Additive is a concentrated shimmer pigment paste that gives a metallic effect to Leather Colourant or Leather Top Coat.

Features
- Recommended addition rate is 10–20%. The colours can be mixed with each other and added to the dye, the topcoat, or both, for effect.
- Base colours: Gold, Silver, Copper, Bronze, Pearlescent. Silver has the finest particles and Silver 03 the largest, most sparkling ones; Silver 01 and 02 give intermediate effects.
- Consistency varies by colour depending on the pigment and binder; shake the container and mix if necessary.
- Suitable for furniture, footwear, clothing and accessory leather, both genuine and synthetic coatings; not suitable for suede/nubuck.
- Test each product on a small, inconspicuous area before full application.
- Clean the surface with Leather Ultimate Cleaner; remove heavy grease stains first with Leather Degreaser. Then degrease with Leather Alcohol Cleaner or Leather Liquid Degreaser.
- Remove damaged, poorly adhering old coating with Solvent Cleaner or Leather Prep; apply Leather Primer as a base coat, adding 5–10% Cross Linker X by total volume.
- Shake and mix the dye and pass it through a 190-micron filter; spray thin coats with compressed air free of water and oil. For the dye, a 0.5–1.2 mm nozzle is recommended, with pressure of 1.1–8 bar depending on the equipment; thinning with distilled water is permitted.
- For small local touch-ups, base coats and colour restoration, the dye can also be applied with a sponge, brush or roller.
- If the dye needs to be thickened, Thickening Agent can be used.
- For final protection, add 5–10% Cross Linker X by total volume to the Leather Top Coat.
- Compatible additives: Leather Slip Additive, Leather Non-Slip/Wax-Effect Additive, Leather X-GUARD Additive, Leather Casein Additive and Leather Thickening Agent.
- Apply the final coat thinly and evenly with an airbrush/spray gun after repair and dyeing; a thick coat may change the colour and stiffen the leather.
- Drying time depends on temperature and humidity: careful use is possible after 2–3 hours, full cure takes 8–12 hours. Do not apply cleaning or care products during the first week.
- Clean tools with water, using Leather Prep if necessary.
- Designed to create an elastic coating resistant to water, UV, weathering and mechanical wear.
