Vinyl & Leather Weld is an elastic repair compound activated by hot air or a repair iron that polymerizes quickly.
Features
- For synthetic leather, vinyl, soft plastic and foamed polyurethane. For repairs on genuine leather, the manufacturer also recommends using Heavy Filler and Light Filler.
- Used with a Leather Grain Copier mould to replicate the surrounding texture; the source states strength, elasticity, wear resistance and the ability to bear load immediately after curing.
- Test each product on a small, inconspicuous area before full application.
- Clean with Ultimate Cleaner and degrease with Alcohol Cleaner or Liquid Degreaser; smooth the edges of the damage, removing protrusions and burrs. For a hole, place a reinforcing backing on the inside.
- First fill the damage to 50%; dry with a hairdryer or iron until the compound is fully activated and turns clear. Let it cool completely; a Chill Bar can speed up cooling.
- Then fill up to the surface level and apply the prepared texture mould. Heat through the mould and heat-transfer paper until fully cured. Once fully cooled, apply Leather Colourant and Leather Top Coat.
