LeTech Leather Prep
Stain and grease remover
Brand: LeTech
Leather Prep is a professional solvent that removes old factory dye and protective lacquer, as well as soluble wax, oil and silicone residues.

Features
- For removing the old cracked coating together with an abrasive, preserving the leather's softness and natural look, and improving adhesion of the new coat. The source explains that many visible cracks are in the old paint layer, not in the leather itself.
- If the old coating is kept, more filler, dye and lacquer may be needed to fill the cracks; this can produce a thicker, more artificial-feeling result.
- Formulated for genuine leather; the source's application list includes automotive, furniture, footwear, clothing, accessories, suede and nubuck. Although synthetic leather is also listed in the material-structure filter, the main description specifically refers to genuine leather.
- Test each product on a small, inconspicuous area before full application.
- First clean off dirt with Leather Ultimate Cleaner; for deep grease stains use Leather Degreaser, and for a poorly adhering old coating use Solvent Cleaner or Leather Prep. Then degrease with Leather Alcohol Cleaner and prime with Leather Primer, adding 5–10% Cross Linker X by total volume.
- For subsequent dyeing, shake and mix the dye; spray in thin, even coats. Thinning with distilled water is permitted; nozzle 0.5–1.2 mm, pressure 1.1–8 bar depending on the equipment; use compressed air free of water and oil and a 190-micron paint filter. A sponge, brush or roller can be used for the base coat, artwork and small local touch-ups.
- After dyeing, protect with Leather Top Coat, adding 5–10% Cross Linker X by total volume; a matte, semi-matte or glossy finish can be chosen. Clean tools with water, using Leather Prep if necessary.
