Manually operated press in which the upper plate is easily lowered using a convenient lever-and-pedal system: the large handle on the upper plate is pulled down while the corresponding pedal is pressed. The lower plate supplies steam and suction; the upper plate is polished, steam-heated and made of stainless steel. Opening of the upper plate is simultaneously controlled by a pedal that activates suction, preventing the garment from slipping; the PM 98 is offered with a built-in boiler and suction unit, or for connection to a central steam and vacuum supply.
