FPA-D are pneumatic ironing presses: the press closes with compressed air, so the operator does not tire. There are four heads — universal (FPA1-D), universal/trouser (FPA2-D), single trouser (FPA3-D), and trouser top (FPA4-D). Steam is supplied from both the head and the buck, and vacuum holds the fabric in place and dries it after pressing. Pressure is adjustable.
